Abstract
The Korea Community Health Survey (KCHS) is a nationwide, community-based, cross-sectional survey conducted in cooperation with the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) and municipalities. The survey has been conducted since 2008 with the aim of producing comparable health statistics across the regions. Researchers can regionally study health-related behaviors through the KCHS dataset. The KCDC verified the KCHS data and developed a guidebook to help users conveniently handle the data. The edited data of KCHS has been released to the public annually since 2012, and the 2008-2014 survey dataset and guidebooks are now available online (http://cdc.go.kr, http://chs.cdc.go.kr). The KCHS dataset is available only as SAS file, so the KCDC plans to offer it in other formats such as SPSS or TEXT file. We look forward to producing more in-depth studies using the KCHS dataset.
